TeenagersThe word is becoming common and an identity is growing among young people but parenting teenagers is proving a challenge and the generation gap is opening upMorag: Your father and I would never have behaved like that. James: Ach, Mam, that was the old days. Times have changed. This is the sixties….the swinging sixties, man! However, the famous permissive, sex-drugs-and-rock-n-roll aura of the 60’s has not yet reached Forfar Academy: They were virginal innocents, schooled to propriety by parents, teachers and ministers. And drugs are still almost unheard of in St Andrews: Maybe she’d got hold of some magic mushrooms…Back home in London they were all the rage but here, in this backwater, there was little sign. Music![]() Mature StudentsAnother idea beginning to catch on in the 60’s and a peep ahead to the University Of The Air (early name for the Open University).
